Diwali is not only a festival that celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil but also is a celebration for the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi. She is worshipped on Diwali to bring good fortune and financial success. In Hinduism it is said that Goddess Lakshmi is the embodiment of the divine feminine power that nutures and transforms one, and it is believed that this power (shakti) lies within every woman. We received an order to create 40 Diwali baskets, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to celebrate not only the goddess but also the incredible, divine energy of the women at Hands of Shakti.
Each basket was carefully curated , and designed to honour the spirit of Diwali aswell as reflect the power of Shakti. They included a Toran (door decoration), key chain, flower embellished diary and a bowl of chocolates. Almost all items had a traditional Indian touch to it.
