The Story of Hands of Shakti
Founded in 2023

About of Hands of Shakti:
Hands of Shakti was founded by Suhani, inspired by her experience helping create 'Style Queen World' for her sister with Down syndrome (details in the blog section). By involving underprivileged women along the way in simple crafting tasks like embellishing tote bags, she realized the potential of creative work to bring joy and financial empowerment. This led to the birth of Hands of Shakti—a platform dedicated to uplifting unskilled and underprivileged women through creative opportunities.
Our Mission:
Hands of Shakti empowers financially weak Indian women, many of whom face challenges in working outside their home, by providing a platform for crafting high-quality products from home. This initiative allows women to unleash their creativity, earn a sustainable income, and achieve financial independence—all while balancing their daily responsibilities.

Our Values:
We welcome women from all walks of life, regardless of age or ability. In a society where meaningful earning opportunities for underprivileged women can be rare, we strive to break down barriers and create pathways to financial self-sufficiency.
At the heart of Hands of Shakti lies a belief in the untapped potential of Indian women. By nurturing their skills and channeling their creativity into crafting exquisite products, we aim to build a community that celebrates their unique contributions while fostering financial autonomy.

Our Training:
Starter kits and scrap cloth are provided individually to every woman along with several training sessions to make embellishments such as cloth flowers and pumpkin balls. These are then collected in a timely manner and the women receive remuneration for the items made. These are turned into products at our studio and sold at exhibitions, collaborations with stores etc.
Our Impact:
Currently, we work with three communities in Delhi and Haryana, benefiting 35–40 families. As we grow, Hands of Shakti continues to inspire empowerment, inclusivity, and creativity, creating a brighter future for Indian women. The financial impact of this project, and the very act of ‘creating’ has uplifted and emboldened their spirit.
Our products include keychains, upcycled jewelry boxes, embellished readymade diaries, Christmas ornaments, door decorations and art works.
